Each piece of work will be exhibited, signed and dated only on the back, with a list of the artists separately displayed. The work is viewed therefore without attribution to the artist and this means that buyers need to use their personal taste and artistic judgement when making their selections, rather than simply choosing on the basis of a famous or familiar name. |

| St Margaret’s Hospice in Taunton was built 20 years ago and has served the community well during that time. The modern palliative care offers the opportunity to do much more for the patients. Because of this, better facilities need to be built to expand the outpatients and day care units to support the work that is being done in the community to help people have a choice of where their care is delivered.Find out more about the New Build Appeal, the building so far and future fundraising Events for this year by visiting www.somerset-hospice.org.uk | |||||||||||
This unusual event provides an opportunity to buy original work by professional artists, students and amateurs, and some celebrities for no more than the price of a print. The organisers hope to have at least 1000 pieces of original, post card size, art work, each to be sold for £25.00. |

Hestercombe's Coutyard Cafe will be open during the brief art event for morning coffee, and afternoon tea, with a full lunch menu including daily specials. The world-famous Gardens are open from 10.00am until 5.00pm giving Brief Art visitors the opportunity to enjoy a full day out. |

The task of sourcing the work began in January 2007, and this has been by personal contacts, visiting art groups, contacting Art Colleges, schools and the many artists who participate in Somerset and Dorset Arts Weeks. The organisers have been busily networking for the past year or so and many good friends and interesting acquaintances have been made on the way. |

The response to our plea has been wonderful. Seeing the work sent in, in many media, many styles and subjects, has been a joy and a most exciting experience. We are hugely grateful to all the artists who have given time and thought to this rather unusual idea, and we thank them most sincerely for their generous support. |
